Bogogno offers opportunities to enjoy culture, hiking and sport. For orientation, it is important to note the location of each site: the Oratorio di San Giacomo and the Chiesa di Santa Maria in Valle are outside the town area, while the second stage of the Cammino delle Colline Novaresi begins in Bogogno.

Churches and Frescoes

The Oratorio di San Giacomo is outside the town area of Bogogno, on the road to Veruno. Its oldest frescoes are attributed to Giovanni de Campo and dated to 1473. The Chiesa di Santa Maria in Valle is also outside the town area, on the border with the municipality of Agrate Conturbia, in the locality known as “Minerva”. The two churches therefore have different location references: the road to Veruno is the landmark for the Oratorio, while the municipal boundary and Minerva are the references for Santa Maria in Valle.

The Parrocchiale di Santa Agnese is listed as a tourist attraction in Bogogno. You can reach the church square by car; there are steps at the entrance to the church. In the square in front of Palazzo Prandina-Terzi-De Visart, there is a car park with a designated space for people with disabilities. There is a ramp at the entrance to the palace.

Cultural Programme and Events

The Biblioteca Comunale Cesare Pavese promotes author meetings, book presentations, conferences, discussions, training courses, exhibitions, conventions, music and theatre evenings, and competitions, including in collaboration with associations. The formats on offer depend on programmes announced in advance. If you would like to combine a visit with an event, these announcements are the practical point of reference.

Hiking: Stage to Borgomanero

The second stage of the Cammino delle Colline Novaresi begins in Bogogno and ends in Borgomanero at Villa Zanetta, the CAI headquarters. It is 15.3 km long, takes four hours and is of moderate difficulty. From Bogogno, the route follows the provincial road towards Cressa. The start and finish give the route a clear direction; distance, duration and difficulty rating each describe a different aspect of the hike.

Golf and Other Sports Facilities

The Bonora Course at Bogogno Golf Resort is a par-72 course. It extends across a vast, hilly area surrounded by wild nature; its lively design evokes a parkland course. The comparison describes the course’s design, while the rolling terrain and surrounding nature define its landscape setting.

The Parco sportivo comunale comprises a football pitch, a tennis court, a futsal court and a multipurpose area for basketball and volleyball. The playing areas are distinct: football, tennis and futsal each have their own court, while basketball and volleyball are played on the multipurpose area.

Ghemme DOCG and Colline Novaresi DOC

The listed wines include Ghemme DOCG and Ghemme DOCG Riserva, as well as wines with the Colline Novaresi DOC designation, including “Rugiada”, “Aurora”, “Bocciolo” and “S. Quirico”. The wine selection may change.
