If you’re looking for a hotel in Settimo Milanese, the local green spaces and cultural attractions offer different starting points for planning your trip. You can focus on trails and outdoor activities, or explore the town’s history and cultural program.

Green Spaces and Outdoor Activities

In the center of Settimo Milanese is Bosco della Giretta, an urban forest cared for by volunteers from Associazione La Risorgiva ETS. Its combined cycling and walking paths are designed for walking, cycling, and running. So the focus here isn’t on just one type of activity: the paths are suitable for a range of activities.

A useful landmark in the forest’s surroundings is Punto Parco Bosco della Giretta at Via Pastore 7. It is in an area of particular ecological value, where wooded areas alternate with extensive clearings. Punto Parco lies on a route between Cornaredo and Settimo Milanese. This means Bosco della Giretta can be explored not only through its trails and activities, but also through the contrast between woodland and open spaces.

Parco del Laghetto offers a different experience: the green space has a path that loops around the pond. Facilities include picnic tables, a solarium, sports facilities, and playgrounds. The difference from Bosco della Giretta makes it easier to choose what to do: there, the focus is on combined cycling and walking paths and a range of activities; at Laghetto, it’s the loop around the pond and the various facilities.

Historic Sites and Their Stories

Palazzo Granaio is a 17th-century historic building in the center of Settimo Milanese. It was originally used as a manor’s granary, a silkworm farm, and a wine cellar. These three functions give the building a varied history of use, from grain storage and silkworm farming to use as a wine cellar.

The history of the Church of Santa Margherita also spans different periods. It is documented as early as 1153 and was rebuilt by parish priest Fabrizio Balbi in 1534. These dates mark different chapters: 1153 is the earliest record of the church, while 1534 is the year it was rebuilt.

In Cascine Olona, the Oratorio San Giovanni Battista was built and consecrated by Paolo Mantegazza in 1468. It was declared a national monument and saved from the tram tracks. Its construction and preservation history offers another way to explore Settimo Milanese’s historic sites.

Cultural Program During Your Stay

Auditorium Anna Marchesini hosts first-run film screenings, as well as film, music, and theater series. This adds a cultural program with several focuses alongside the historic sites. If you’d like to plan around a specific date, check the program in advance. Film, music, and theater offer a different way to plan than the green spaces: you can make the events program or your preferred outdoor activity the focus of your trip.
