Ogliastro Marina brings together the coast, the pine forest and historic buildings. You can decide in advance whether you would like your trip to focus more on the sea, activities in the pine forest or coastal history.

Coast and access to Punta Licosa

Ogliastro Marina beach attracts visitors for snorkeling and diving. A route from Ogliastro Marina also leads to the coastal part of the Santa Maria di Castellabate Marine Protected Area. Trail conditions may vary, so check them before setting out. The road with restricted access to Punta Licosa begins at the end of the road leading to Ogliastro Marina. You can also reach Punta Licosa by sea by docking at the harbor. Harbor operations and restrictions may vary; check traffic restrictions and harbor conditions before making plans.

Trails through the pine forest

The Pineta di Ogliastro Marina is a nature park between Piazza Giovanni Paolo II and Lungomare delle Tartarughe. The pine forest's nature trails are suitable for walking and cycling. Also check local access conditions before your visit. The “Antica Oliarola” trail follows an old unpaved path and connects Lungomare delle Tartarughe with Piazza Giovanni Paolo II. It runs on the sea-facing side of a grove of Aleppo pines and is 0.4 kilometers long. The “Ogliastro Marina-Pozzillo” trail is about 8.6 kilometers long in total. This means a short stated distance and a much longer approximate total distance are presented side by side. If distance matters for your plans, compare both figures with the scope of your outing.

Two historic watchtowers

The Torre di Ogliastro, also known as Torre Ogliarola, was built in 1569 as an Aragonese watchtower at Punta Ogliastro. The Torre dell’Arena, also known as Torre della Marina di Ogliastro, was built in 1592 as a watchtower in Baia Arena. The Torre di Ogliastro was therefore built 23 years earlier; the names, locations and dates make the differences between the two named coastal watchtowers easy to see.

Playground and beach access roads

Area giochi Ogliastro Marina is a free children's playground near the sea in the Pineta di Ogliastro Marina. If a playground is a factor in choosing where to go, you can consider this named spot alongside the beach and nature trails.

A municipal notice dated July 30, 2024, states that in the hamlet of Lago, part of Ogliastro Marina, all beach sections have signposted access roads. Signage and beach access may change; check local notices before your visit.
