Gefell offers several starting points for planning a stay: sights in the townscape, events in the town park, an outdoor pool with several pools and leisure facilities, and a signposted cycling and hiking trail.

Townscape, sights and events

A protected oak tree, over 100 years old, stands in the market square. Another prominent sight in the townscape is the “Sankt Trinitatis” cemetery chapel. The “Tanzlindengruppe” is also worth noting if you want to see Gefell’s historic sights: it is located in the garden of former town archivist Mr Werner Rauh V. and is considered a historic attraction worth visiting.

The town park is a place to relax and unwind, and has become a special little gem in recent years. It is also the venue for the Town and Rose Festival, which has been held there annually again since 2014. The tractor gathering in Gefell is also held every year. If you would like to combine your trip with an event, check the specific dates for your planned stay.

Gefell outdoor pool: pools, slides and other facilities

The outdoor pool offers various ways to enjoy the water. For swimming, there is a 50-metre competition and swimming pool, with a 2-metre diving board. Other water attractions complement the pool:

  • a 2-metre water slide,
  • a floating climbing rock with a slide, and
  • a toddler pool with a children’s slide.

There are also facilities outside the pools: the outdoor pool has a children’s playground and a sandpit with a sun sail, as well as a volleyball court and a table tennis table. A wide range of swimming aids is available for younger children. When planning, you can take both the water attractions and the play and sports facilities into account, without centring your stay on just one activity.

On request, the pool attendant offers swimming lessons. You can also request a swimming proficiency test there; advice on water sports is available on request as well. Check the latest opening information before your visit.
