Dellfeld: Cultural Monuments and Cycling Route
Accommodation in Dellfeld
Dellfeld offers several distinct points of interest for a stay: cultural monuments built in widely different periods, Dellfeld Ort station, and a cycling route that passes through the town. If you are looking for a hotel in Dellfeld, you can first consider whether local history, cycling, or the wider Südwestpfalz region is important to your travel plans.
Building History and Cultural Monuments
Dellfeld’s cultural monuments include the Protestant church, a hall church built in 1923/24 with a Gothic chancel tower dating from the first half of the 13th century. The two construction periods are far apart: the tower dates from the Middle Ages, while the hall was built in the early 20th century. A cemetery cross dating from 1856 is also among the monuments. The former transverse farmhouse at Friedhofstraße 4 is also a cultural monument, as is the former school building at Mittelgasse 11. The school is a Neoclassical ashlar building dating from the mid-19th century. The former farmstead at Vordergasse 9, 9a–c is also included: it is a complex of transverse farmhouses with several outbuildings. Another transverse farmhouse at Vordergasse 33 is dated 1816 and is also a cultural monument.
The term “transverse farmhouse” thus appears at three addresses, with the farmstead also comprising several outbuildings. This comparison illustrates the different forms of the historic buildings mentioned in Dellfeld.
Nature and Cycling
The Weihertalkopf Nature Reserve covers parts of Dellfeld’s municipal area. Alongside the town’s building history, a protected natural area is another local feature. The Pirminius Cycle Route passes through Dellfeld. Its section along the Schwarzbach also reaches Contwig, Rieschweiler-Mühlbach, and Höhmühlbach on the way to Thaleischweiler-Fröschen.
Dellfeld Ort Station
As of June 29, 2026, the platforms at Dellfeld Ort station are step-free and have level access. Dynamic passenger information displays are also provided. Station facilities may change, so check the latest information before traveling.
