Eimeldingen combines striking landscape features, historical details and bus and train connections to several cities. If you are looking for a hotel in Eimeldingen, the different aspects of the town can help you choose what to focus on during your stay.
Landscapes and Cycling Routes
Eimeldingen is located where the lower reaches of the Kander cut through the Upper Rhine Plain. A small northeastern part of the municipal area extends into the Markgräfler Hill Country. An extensive network of cycling routes leads from Eimeldingen to the recreational areas along the Rhine and to the Markgräfler Hill Country, with its vineyards on the slopes. These geographical connections differ: the hill country lies within only a small northeastern part of the municipal area, but is also one of the destinations served by the cycling network. Thus, the town’s location and the broader landscape destinations reached by the cycling routes have a distinct relationship.
Local History and Memorial Sites
Eimeldingen’s local history offers several clearly distinct points of interest. The choir of St. Martin’s Church in Eimeldingen is late Gothic and has an octagonal 5/8 shape dating from around 1450. The “Schlössli” was a bailiff’s house built in 1493 and is the oldest house in the village. The two architectural details highlight different aspects: late Gothic church architecture on the one hand, and a former bailiff’s house on the other. The Peace Linden in Alte Baslerstraße was planted on March 9, 1924, as the successor to a linden tree that stood there from 1679 to 1922. Eimeldingen’s war memorial is associated with the Peace Linden of 1871, at a location immediately above the Kander.

Lörrach as a Wider Travel Destination
The wider travel destination of Lörrach adds its own cultural and landscape themes to the local perspective. Lörrach is in southwestern Baden-Württemberg, in the Markgräflerland, right on the Swiss border and close to the neighboring city of Basel. The Dreiländermuseum Lörrach has a permanent exhibition covering around 1,000 square meters. The Lörrach Sculpture Trail runs through the city and features 23 sculptures, fountains and monuments created by renowned sculptors. The Lörrach weekly market has been held since 1403. The Burghof Lörrach’s cultural program includes singing and music, dance, cabaret, literature and children’s theater; Burghof Lörrach GmbH organizes the international STIMMEN Festival every year. If the festival affects your travel plans, check the current dates. For a landscape perspective, the Tüllinger Wine Trail links the Riehen Wine Trail with the Weil Wine Trail from Lörrach-Tüllingen. The interconnected wine trails on Tüllinger Berg run through around 90 hectares of vineyards in the “Riehener Schlipfer,” “Tüllinger Sonnenbrunnen,” “Weiler Schlipf,” “Haltinger Stiege” and “Ötlinger Sonnhole” vineyard sites. They offer views of the Wiese Valley and the Rhine Valley, as well as insights into the work of local winegrowers throughout the year.
