Rielasingen-Worblingen brings together public art, local history and opportunities for excursions in the volcanic landscape of the Hegau. When planning your stay, you can give different weight to culture and outdoor activities: the sculpture trail, historic buildings and village museum offer cultural points of interest, while hiking, cycling and mountain biking add to the range of activities. The surrounding area also includes Lake Constance, Switzerland and the Black Forest, as well as opportunities for excursions and leisure activities in nearby areas.

Art along the Radolfzeller Aach

The sculpture trail was created in 1998 for celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the partnership with Nogent-sur-Seine. Ten artists from Germany, France and Italy took part in its creation. The route features modern, abstract and realistic sculptures made of wood, stone and iron. It therefore brings together several styles and materials. The trail follows the Radolfzeller Aach, giving the route a clear connection to the river as well as its artworks. Its history links a specific local connection—the partnership with Nogent-sur-Seine—with artistic contributions from three countries.

Local history in Worblingen

The Old Castle in Worblingen is classified as a protected cultural monument under Section 28. St. Nicholas Church in Worblingen was built in 1853 and is considered the earliest example of Neo-Gothic architecture in the district of Konstanz. Village life in the past is the focus of the Worblingen Village Museum, which also hosts special exhibitions each year on changing topics. The sites therefore offer different points of interest: the castle and church are historic buildings, while the museum presents the village’s former way of life.

Tours and landscape in the Hegau

The Radolfzeller Aach flows through Rielasingen-Worblingen and is also the river followed by the sculpture trail. The municipality lies in the volcanic landscape of the Hegau. Local hiking, cycling and mountain biking routes run along the Aach, at Rosenegg and on the Schienerberg. These areas provide specific landmarks for outdoor activities; the sculpture trail combines the river setting with art. The surrounding areas also offer opportunities for excursions and leisure activities. Nearby regions include Lake Constance, Switzerland and the Black Forest.
