Les Infournas consists of two hamlets: Les Infournas Bas and Les Infournas Hauts. This distinction helps put location references in hiking and cultural contexts into perspective. Les Infournas Hauts is situated at an altitude of 1,373 m and is designated as a starting point for mountain hikes. Trail conditions may vary; check their current status before setting out.

Hamlets, Landscape and Getting There

Woodland areas lie to the south of Les Infournas. From Les Infournas, access to the Drac Valley, an important transport corridor in the region, is possible only via two winding roads. The road heading northwest leads to Chauffayer, 10 km away; the other runs south to Saint-Bonnet-en-Champsaur, 7 km away. Thus, two roads, each with its own direction and distance, are identified for finding your way to the valley.

Hiking, Cycling and Horse-Riding Routes

The routes differ in activity and duration. The “Tour du Champsaur VTT – 3 days” passes through Les Infournas and is a three-day mountain biking loop. Both the cycling activity and the multi-day duration are specified for this tour. The horse-riding route “Tour du Champsaur-Valgaudemar à cheval” passes through the protected landscape of Les Infournas and by the Maison Forestière de Subeyrannes. While the duration is a clear point of reference for the mountain biking loop, the riding route is described by its course and a named waypoint. Check trail and seasonal conditions before setting out.

The route description for the stage “From Charbillac to Les Payas,” dated August 22, 2026, leads southeast from Charbillac toward Les Infournas Hauts. After 4.2 km, the route follows paths marked with GR and PR waymarkers. Check current signage and conditions before setting out.

Architectural Heritage, Studios and Honey

At a farmhouse in Les Infournas Bas, there is a door whose design is based on 14th-century models; its execution may date from the 16th century. The nearby Chapelle des Petètes is in the hamlet of Aubérie, between Bénévent and Les Infournas. It has been classified as a Monument historique since 1994 and is considered a symbol of local folk art. Small statuettes with a naïve expression have adorned its façade since the 18th century.

Les Ateliers Perchés comprises two studio exhibitions by Véronique and Martine: one in Les Infournas Hauts, the other in Les Infournas Bas. Three exhibitions are held each year—in spring, during the week around August 15, and in early December. If you would like to plan your trip around one of these periods, check the exact dates and exhibition arrangements in advance; these may change.

The honey experiences also have different focuses. The seasonal honey experience at Ferme Drouhot includes a conversation with the producers about bees. La Miellerie d'Émilie in Les Infournas Hauts offers a demonstration of honey production. At Ferme Drouhot, the focus is on learning about bees; at La Miellerie d'Émilie, it is on a demonstration of the production process. Keep in mind that Ferme Drouhot's offering is seasonal, and confirm the specific date in advance.
