Vallet can be discovered through its specific places and activities: wineries and wine tastings sit alongside historic buildings, a nature and leisure area, and a cultural programme that changes with the seasons. When choosing what to do during your stay, it is worth distinguishing between these options: a guided wine tasting is different from a walking route or a cultural programme.

Wine and regional produce

The Maison du Muscadet showcases wines and producers from Vallet, Mouzillon, La Regrippière, La Chapelle-Heulin and Le Pallet. As a tasting and sales cellar, it offers selected wines from local producers and regional products for sale. Visitors can enjoy free tastings and self-guided tours. Guided tours are available for individuals and groups on request.

The Château La Guipière offers a different experience. Its heritage dates back to the 15th century, and its activities include tours with tastings, picnics and introductions to wine tasting. During a guided tasting, each of the estate’s six wines is paired with a cheese carefully selected from a local cheesemaker in Vallet. The two experiences are therefore distinct: the Maison du Muscadet presents a selection from several towns and regional products, while the Guipière also focuses on pairing wine and cheese. Check which tastings and tours are available before your trip.

Historic buildings and the history of winemaking

The Château de la Noë Bel-Air is an Italian-inspired building, constructed between 1836 and 1839. The château is set in an eleven-hectare park, and the building is classified as a historic monument. The construction period, architectural character and park offer different insights into the estate and should not be confused with one another.

The history of the historic La Noë estate is also connected to winemaking. At its peak, the estate included a press house and wine cellars as part of its winemaking buildings. The Parc de la Noë Bel Air in Vallet was listed as a historic monument on 20 September 1999. The listing of the park and the classification of the Château de la Noë Bel-Air are separate heritage designations.

Nature and outdoor activities

The Coulée de la Logne is a five-hectare nature and leisure area. It has walking paths, wooden play equipment, picnic tables and street furniture. The Coulée also includes a grazing area, where visitors can see Highland cattle, Irish piebald donkeys and Poitou donkeys. As animal presence and visiting conditions should be checked before travelling, it is advisable to check the latest visitor information.

If you are looking for a walking route rather than a leisure area, the BOUCLE CIRCUIT DES COTEAUX offers a different focus. The route gives walkers the chance to discover the Château du Cléray winery and offers views of the vineyards and the Moulin Buzard in La Débaudière. It links the wine-growing landscape with named places along a walking route, while the Coulée de la Logne brings together its own leisure activities.

Cultural programme in Vallet

Le Champilambart in Vallet offers a programme of performing arts. It includes themed evenings, cabaret evenings and events at various venues. The programme also includes discussions with artists as part of an artistic residency. The activities range from performances to events where meeting and talking with artists are part of the programme.

Le Champilambart offers introductory circus arts workshops for different audiences. As the programme changes seasonally and workshop availability depends on the programme, check the dates before your visit.
