If you’re planning an overnight stay in Le Landreau, you can choose your outings according to your specific interests: would you like to learn more about winemaking and wine tasting, or discover the area’s architecture and history? The activities vary in format. The Circuit des Piliers is also one of the area’s highlights, offering impressive panoramas over the vineyards.

Winemaking and Tastings

At Domaine Raphaël Luneau, a tour takes you from the vineyards to the cellar. It includes insights into the work of a winemaker and the art of winemaking, a visit to the cellar with its traditional underground Nantes tanks, and explanations of the steps from winemaking to bottling. The programme includes a tasting of four wines. This makes the visit a combination of insights into production and a tasting. Booking conditions may change; check them in advance.

Domaine Raphaël Luneau also offers a different kind of tasting: a blind tasting of its wines paired with local products. Here, the focus is not on a tour of the vineyards and cellar, but on tasting wines without knowing what they are beforehand and pairing them with local produce. Reservations and dates may change.

At Domaine de l’Ecu, wine tastings and purchases are available by appointment only, Monday to Friday. This condition is important if you want to combine your visit with a purchase: arrange your appointment in advance and plan for a weekday. Arrangements may change.

Château de la Cour organises tours of the estate, cellars and vineyards; wine tastings take place in its cellar. Château Briacé offers wine tastings, cellar tours and introductions to wine tasting. If you’re looking for an introduction as well as a tasting, this explicitly listed option is a useful distinction. Access and booking arrangements may change; check the current conditions before your visit.

Architecture and History

The church in Le Landreau was built between 1845 and 1848. Its tuff-stone façade features neoclassical elements. The dates establish when it was built, while the material and style provide specific details for describing its architecture. If you’re interested in the history of the building, the church offers both a clearly defined period of construction and distinctive features of its façade.

Château de Briacé was once a manor house surrounded by moats more than fifteen metres wide. The Calvaire de Bas Briacé, also known as the Croix “André Ripoche”, commemorates the period of the Vendée Wars. It is visible from the outside. The church, manor house and calvaire offer different ways to explore history: through architecture, the former use of an estate and a historical commemoration.

Vineyards and Landscapes

The Circuit des Piliers offers impressive panoramas over the vineyards. This adds a scenic highlight alongside the tours, tastings and historic sites. When planning, you can decide whether you’re looking for a visit with insights into winemaking, a tasting, an architectural focus or views across the vineyards. These options involve different arrangements; in particular, check dates and access with the respective providers in advance.
