Accommodation in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit
In Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit, the Maison du Parc, several named routes and Notre-Dame Church offer different themes to help shape your travel plans. The Maison’s grounds combine visitor information and walking opportunities with regional culture; visible remains of the church’s earliest construction phase have been preserved.
Maison du Parc: walks and farm history
The Maison du Parc is a visitor information centre in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit. Its five-hectare grounds are open for walks. The interpretation trail includes a conservation garden, a pond and traditional buildings—offering a way to explore the grounds.
Since 1991, the Maison du Parc has been based in a former farm called « ferme de la Côte ». The farm complex includes a bread oven, barns, a shed, a cider press, a dovecote, the farmhouse and other traditional agricultural buildings. The site’s former use as a farm can therefore also be seen in the different types of buildings.
Highland cattle are used on the grounds for the ecological management of wetlands; their presence on site may change. The Maison du Parc also offers cyclists and hikers passing through an eco-bivouac area with two wooden tent platforms. Adult and children’s bikes, as well as electric bikes, are also available. If you plan to use the bivouac area or hire bikes, check the current arrangements in advance.
Exhibition and ethnographic collection
The Ethnothèque at the Maison du Parc presents the permanent exhibition « La pomme normande, quelle histoire! ». The title focuses on the history of the Norman apple. As visitor arrangements may change, check the current details before your visit.
This should be distinguished from the ethnographic collection of the Parc naturel régional des Boucles de la Seine Normande. It comprises more than 12,000 objects and has held the designation « Musée de France » since 2002.
Distinguishing cycling and walking routes
The Maison du Parc is on the La Seine à Vélo cycling route. The Le Bliquetuit walking trail also starts at the Maison and runs partly along the banks of the Seine. This means there are two distinct types of route to consider: a cycling link at the Maison and a walking trail with a section alongside the river.
The Route des Fruits connects the Maison du Parc in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit with Duclair. It is 62 km long, passes through fruit farms and orchards, and can be travelled by car, bicycle or on foot. The Route des Chaumières starts in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit. When planning, you can therefore distinguish between a walking trail specifically described as running along the banks of the Seine and a longer route through fruit-growing areas that can be travelled in three ways.
Notre-Dame Church and its construction history
Notre-Dame Church was classified as a historic monument by decree on 3 February 1923. Visible remains of its earliest construction phase have been preserved. The classification and the surviving architectural remains point to two different historical aspects: the church’s official monument status and the building’s early history.
If you are looking for a hotel for this trip, your preferred focus may guide your plans: walks and routes, or a visit to the Maison du Parc and the church. This lets you choose accommodation based on the places and activities that interest you in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit.
