Churches and history
The oldest parts of the Église Saint-Pierre—the choir and much of the single-nave body—probably date from the 14th and 15th centuries. Three chapels were added in the 17th and 18th centuries. The wall bell tower, built in 1835, holds two large bells, both dated 1835.
Notre-Dame d’Alet also tells the story of several historical periods: the chapel was built in the 11th century after an apparition of the Virgin Mary and rebuilt in 1673 after being destroyed during the Wars of Religion. Its furnishings include three Baroque altarpieces, Burgundian-style sculptures and a 17th-century terracotta Pietà . A shaded footpath connects the Église Saint-Pierre to Notre-Dame d’Alet.
