When looking for a hotel in L'Isle-Adam, you can shape your stay around different interests: historic architecture, local art history, or swimming and water activities. The Église Saint-Martin and the Pavillon Chinois represent distinct historical landmarks. The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire Louis-Senlecq complements them with collections connected to local production. Along the Oise, the Parc du Château Conti and the Plage offer further options to consider when planning your stay.

Heritage and local history

The Église Saint-Martin was listed as a historic monument by decree on 8 December 1941. This date is a specific reference point in the town's heritage history.

The Pavillon Chinois was built in 1785 as a “fabrique” in the Domaine de Cassan. This octagonal monument has a stone base supporting the wooden pavilion, topped by a copper roof. Its architecture can be viewed in distinct elements: the base, the wood and the roof. Tours of the Pavillon Chinois were offered by guides from the tourist office. They were seasonal; check before travelling to see whether a tour is available.

The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire Louis-Senlecq houses late-19th-century terracotta statuettes made at the ceramic workshops in L'Isle-Adam. For these objects, material, period and place of production are closely connected. The museum's collections also tell the story of L'Isle-Adam and its surrounding area. Their historical scope therefore extends from specific works made by local workshops to the history of the town and region.

Park, exhibitions and riverside beach

The Parc du Château Conti offers impressive views of the Oise, the dam, the locks and the beach. The river, water infrastructure and bathing area are all in view, complementing the cultural attractions focused more closely on individual buildings and collection items. On the ground floor of the Château Conti, three rooms are open to artists and host exhibitions. The exhibition programme may change. If you are planning your visit around a specific exhibition, check the dates in advance.

The Plage fluviale de L'Isle-Adam was recognised as heritage of regional interest by the Regional Council of ĂŽle-de-France at its permanent commission meeting on 4 July 2018. The site includes a swimming pool, paddling pools and water slides. On the Oise, La Plage de L'Isle-Adam also offers pedal boats, paddleboards and canoes. Alongside its bathing facilities, the site therefore offers a range of water activities. Opening hours vary by season; check them in advance. If you are planning a particular water activity, also check whether it will be available on your travel dates.
