Les Arsures between winegrowing and cultural heritage
Accommodation in Les Arsures
Les Arsures is located on the Wine Route. Its cultural heritage, winegrowing and landscapes, which vary from one part of the municipality to another, give you several starting points for planning a stay. The Église Saint Grégoire des Arsures is a particular cultural highlight; in winegrowing, local cultivation is complemented by visitor experiences.
Cultural heritage in the town center
The Église Saint Grégoire des Arsures was built in 1851 in the town center, near the château. The church has notable cast-iron baptismal fonts, commissioned in 1866. There are 15 years between the construction of the church and the commissioning of the fonts, making it possible to distinguish the building’s history from its later furnishings. The church also houses a protected polychrome wooden statue of the Virgin and Child. Polychrome means multicolored and describes a specific feature of this statue, in addition to its material and subject. If you would like to see the interior furnishings for yourself, check visiting arrangements in advance.
The two details of the furnishings can also be distinguished by type: for the baptismal fonts, the focus is on cast iron and the year they were commissioned; for the statue, it is on its multicolored decoration and subject. Together, they offer a date from the history of the furnishings and a specific work of art.
Winegrowing and visitor experiences
Domaine Daniel Dugois offers cellar tours and wine tastings in Les Arsures. Tastings are available by appointment, so plan this part of your stay for an agreed time. The estate currently grows Trousseau, Ploussard, Savagnin and Chardonnay in Les Arsures, and farms 10 hectares of vineyards in Les Arsures and Montigny-les-Arsures. The area figure therefore covers both municipalities. This offers two different perspectives on winegrowing: a specific visitor experience in Les Arsures, and the estate’s grape varieties and vineyard area.
Landscapes by part of the municipality
Vineyards, pastures and woodland predominate in the eastern part of Les Arsures. The western and northwestern parts of Les Arsures are within the ForĂŞt domaniale de Mouchard. For orientation, the direction matters: the three landscape features are associated with the east, while the named forest is associated with the western and northwestern parts. When comparing landscape features, note how they correspond to each part of the municipality; the mix of landscapes in the east does not represent the entire municipal area.
Cycling route with clear key details
As of August 16, 2026, the Tour du Jura Vélo Loisirs – Option Gravel route was listed as a challenging 28.6-kilometer road cycling route. “Option Gravel” appears in the name; at the same time, the route is classified as a road cycling route. Distance and difficulty are two distinct details to consider when planning. Route specifications may change; check the route information before setting out.
