Discover Entre-Deux-Monts
Accommodation in Entre-Deux-Monts
When planning a trip to Entre-Deux-Monts, you can choose from a range of activities: hiking between named waypoints, a moderately difficult cycling loop, nature watching at Étang des Drillettes, views from Belvédère du Morillon, or climbing at Site d'escalade Le Morillon. These activities differ in their routes and character. To help you choose, it is worth considering route directions, route measurements, and opportunities for nature watching separately.
Hiking trails and a cycling loop
Parcours F runs from Col de Gyps via Les Cachets to the Mairie in Entre-deux-Monts, then crosses the Quenot at Étang des Drillettes. This sequence of waypoints connects named stops with a stream crossing at the pond. Another hiking route, the GRP Champagnole Nozeroy Jura, passes through Entre-deux-Monts. When choosing a route, consider whether you would prefer to follow the sequence of Parcours F or the GRP's passage through the village.
The Grandvaux, Malvaux au fil de l'eau loop by Jurassic Vélo Tours is moderately difficult, 45.6 kilometres long, and takes four hours. It follows Route d'Entre-deux-Monts to a point below the village. The loop format, difficulty level, distance, and duration give you several points of comparison. You can use the four-hour duration and 45.6-kilometre distance for planning, and consider the moderate difficulty separately. This makes it possible to compare the cycling route with the hiking trails, where waypoints and the route through the village provide orientation.
Pond and valley views
Étang des Drillettes is a quiet pond on the Quenot stream, where visitors can watch fish, birds, and dragonflies along its shaded banks. Swimming is prohibited there, so plan your visit for nature watching rather than swimming. Belvédère du Morillon overlooks the Lemme valley from a height of about 50 metres. It can be reached via a there-and-back route from the RF du Bois de Ban car park in the direction of Col du Morillon. Trail conditions may change, so check them before setting out. The two destinations offer different experiences: at Étang, the focus is on observing wildlife by the water, while at the belvedere, it is on views across the valley.
Climbing at Le Morillon
The Le Morillon climbing crag is freely accessible and has around twenty climbing routes graded 4 to 7. The routes are 8 to 25 metres long. The number, grades, and lengths of the routes provide concrete criteria for assessing the climbing options when planning your visit. Check the current availability and safety conditions of the routes on site. There is also a car park and a picnic area at the site. As these facilities may change, check their current availability before your visit.
