This makes it possible to combine a stay focused on cultural history or activities on the water, depending on your interests.

Church, tunnel and château history

The present-day Église Saint-Martin was built in two phases between 1739 and 1761. The church is classified in its entirety as a Monument historique. Its features include wrought-iron work of significant historical and artistic value. The church’s construction period and protected status each give it a distinct place among the town’s cultural highlights.

At the Tunnel de Saint-Albin, the focus is on its construction history and design: it was completed in 1843 but did not enter service until 1880, after the final works were finished. The 681-meter-long tunnel cuts through a bend in the Saône and is also classified as a Monument historique. The site includes the “La Saône et l’Homme” interpretation trail. As conditions on site may vary, check the current situation before your visit.

The remains of the 16th-century Château de Scey-sur-Saône also include various types of buildings: these include stables, outbuildings, a washhouse, an entrance pavilion and a temple in the park. Together with the church and tunnel, they offer a glimpse of different historic structures and their respective features.

The Saône, harbor and cycling route

Scey-Sur-Saône-Et-Saint-Albin lies on the banks of the Saône. The Port de plaisance has two pontoons with space for 24 to 40 boats; capacity may change, so it is advisable to check locally. On the Voie Bleue, a shared-use section runs through the village of Scey-sur-Saône to Ferrières-lès-Scey after the Tunnel de Saint-Albin. If you plan to cycle this route, check the route conditions before setting off. The water activities at the harbor and the cycling route described here offer different options for planning your trip, without requiring you to focus on the same kind of activity.

Horse-riding activities

The Centre équestre des Boulingrins is located in the park of the former Château de Scey-sur-Saône and has a large outdoor riding arena and an indoor arena. Its offerings include introductory and advanced riding lessons, show jumping, Galop exams from levels 1 to 7, courses and participation in competitions. Programs and participation conditions may change; check what is currently available before visiting.

The Poney-club Les Boulingrins at Domaine du Parc aux Daims offers riding lessons for adults and children, as well as pony taster sessions for children. If you are interested in any of these activities, confirm availability before your visit.
