Port-Sur-Saône lies on the banks of the Saône and offers opportunities for nature and river tourism. When searching for a hotel, you can choose what matters to you: should the river be the main focus, are you interested in wildlife and landscapes, or would you like to combine historic buildings with culture? These themes give your trip planning a clear direction.

The Saône and leisure activities

At the marina, licence-free houseboats for 2 to 12 people are available to rent on the Saône. Availability is seasonal; check the rental conditions and availability for your dates before you travel. Another way to explore the river region is the Rives de Saône route. It follows a former towpath that has been adapted for leisure activities and can be travelled for nearly 80 kilometres on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. This gives you a choice between a boat rental and a longer route that can be explored using different modes of transport.

Nature by the river

The Parc à daims is a wooded park of about 7 hectares next to the marina. Several families of fallow deer live there. Its approximate size and woodland character add a landscape perspective to the themes of water and leisure. The Saône itself also offers different points of interest: near Port-Sur-Saône, it is home to about 20 protected bird species and is suitable for fishing for carp, pike, zander and perch. The birdlife and fish species represent two different ways to enjoy the river: wildlife watching and fishing.

Culture and architectural history

The Chapelle Saint-Valère was rebuilt in 1845. It was deconsecrated in 1996 and subsequently converted into a cultural venue. The Église Saint-Étienne has three naves of equal height and six bays. The naves are the parallel longitudinal spaces of a church; the bays divide the building into individual sections. These details help you understand the architecture not only by the name of the building, but also by its spatial structure.

The Festival Spectacles du Monde adds a seasonal highlight to the cultural calendar: it has taken place every summer for more than 30 years and offers an experience of the cultures of different countries. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the event dates in advance. This lets you take the recurring summer event into account without assuming specific dates.

Bridges over the Saône

The Grand Pont in Port-Sur-Saône has 13 arches. The Pont de Port-sur-Saône was rebuilt between 1750 and 1758, replacing an earlier bridge; it is still used as a road bridge. When planning your trip, you can combine a historical point of interest with a function that remains in use today.
