Ligny-Le Ribault brings together several different points of interest to help you plan your trip: architectural history, traditional brickmaking, a natural site, fishing and a named route. If you are looking for a hotel, these themes can help you get a sense of the destination according to your interests. Cultural history and outdoor activities offer different ways to explore the area; you can decide what you want your stay to focus on.

Cultural history and craft traditions

The Château de Bon Hôtel was built between 1875 and 1882 by the architect Clément Parent in the eclectic Neo-Renaissance style. Its construction dates, architect and style together provide a specific point of interest for architecture enthusiasts. The château is a clearly dated landmark in architectural history.

The Church of Saint-Martin offers a different perspective on the past: it was built in the 15th century. Its stained-glass windows were restored in 1982 by students from the Beaux-Arts de Paris. Here, a medieval origin and a later restoration come together, while remaining distinct points in time.

The Maison de la Brique and the Écomusée de Ligny-le-Ribault each have their own focus. The Maison has two exhibition and conference rooms. At the Écomusée, you can discover a village post office dating from 1920. Alongside architectural history, there is also a specific glimpse of a historic object from the 20th century.

Founded in 1890, the Tuilerie de la Bretèche is now the last traditional brickworks in the Sologne. It makes handmade tiles and bricks, which the Tuilerie describes as suitable for restoring monuments and prestigious châteaux. This adds the craft of producing building materials to the area’s architectural history. The Tuilerie offers guided group tours on request. You must contact them in advance to arrange a visit.

Nature, fishing and a route

Pré des Saules is one of the few willow conservation sites in France. It also has children’s play equipment, small shelters and picnic tables. Nature and specific amenities come together in one place, allowing you to take different interests into account when planning your visit.

The fishing course along the Cosson is set up for family fishing. The Boucle 13 – Châteaux cachés route starts at the Place de l’Église car park in Ligny-Le Ribault. The two activities have different focuses: the fishing course is geared towards family fishing, while the route has a clearly specified starting point. You can decide which one is relevant to your trip based on the activity you have planned.

Farm sales by appointment

Ranch des Roves sells goat’s milk and homemade goat’s cheese directly from the farm, but only by prior appointment. Arranging a visit is part of planning: book in advance and check availability before you go. This allows you to include the farm shop as a separate stop on your itinerary.
