If you are considering Synyak as a travel destination, you can first organize your stay around your preferred focus: Skiing is the main attraction at the Syniak Sanatorium; Route No. 5 leads to Obavskyi Kamin Mountain, and the Blue Lake lies north of Syniak. Consider whether you would rather combine your stay with skiing or snowboarding, a route, or a nature theme. Each of these themes has its own distinct character.

Skiing at the Syniak Sanatorium

The ski slopes in Synyak are designed mainly for beginners. In addition to the multi-lift, the Syniak Sanatorium has an easy practice slope for first attempts at skiing or snowboarding. Synyak has a horizontal multi-lift and a vertical tow lift. From the top station of the tow lift at the sanatorium, a recreational run and a sports run lead downhill. Check well ahead of your planned travel date whether the multi-lift, tow lift, and desired run are operating. Also check in advance whether the ticket office, rental shops, and ski instructors are currently available.

The slope at the sanatorium is not particularly steep; it is grassy and hilly, with some winding sections. To understand the options, it is helpful to distinguish between the practice facilities and the general character of the slopes: the easy practice slope is intended for first attempts, while the slopes overall are geared toward beginners. The recreational and sports runs offer two expressly named types of descent.

At the foot of the runs at the Syniak Sanatorium, there is a ticket office and rental shops for ski equipment; you can also make use of ski instructors. The easy practice slope is next to the multi-lift. At the foot of the runs, there are a ticket office and rental shops; ski instructors are also available.

Route to Obavskyi Kamin Mountain

Route No. 5 to Obavskyi Kamin Mountain begins at the enclosure with deer and birds on the grounds of the Syniak Sanatorium. Unlike the runs that descend from the top station of the tow lift, this route is defined by a named mountain destination. On Route No. 5, use the enclosure as your starting point and Obavskyi Kamin as your destination; for the runs, the recreational and sports runs are the two options. Before making concrete plans for the hike, ask locally about the current trail markings and condition of Route No. 5.

The Blue Lake north of Syniak

The Blue Lake (Synie Ozero), a mountain lake of volcanic origin, lies north of Syniak. It offers a different focus from the slope at the sanatorium: the lake is defined by its northern location and volcanic origin, while the slope is characterized by grass, hills, and a winding course in places. If you are weighing a skiing option against a nature theme, the lake is a clearly identified landscape feature.
