Mysailivka can be understood through several specific points of reference: its location on the Ros, a founding story said to date back to the late 17th century, and church buildings from different periods. There are also archaeological traces from the time of Rus and the Kagarlyk–Bohuslav road, which runs through the settlement. If you are looking for hotels for a stay in Mysailivka, the settlement’s history provides an objective context for choosing the destination. The specific location of any individual property should be considered separately.

Location on the Ros and local tradition

The Ros River runs along the southern edge of the settlement; Mysailivka is also situated on its left bank. These details describe two aspects of the same geographical setting: the settlement’s position on the riverbank and the river’s course along its southern edge. In addition, the Kagarlyk–Bohuslav road passes through Mysailivka. The river and the road connection are therefore two named points of reference for the destination. When comparing hotels, the specific address of each property is the relevant point of reference.

According to local tradition, the name Mysailivka comes from Mysai, the settlement’s first settler and founder. He founded the settlement in a valley by a stream in the late 17th century; the stream is now called Rohozianka. The origin story thus links the settlement’s name with a person and a landscape: Mysai as the founder, the valley as the place of founding, and Rohozianka as the named stream. This tradition adds a distinct historical perspective to the geographical setting on the Ros.

Church history in two periods

The settlement’s history includes two distinct periods of church construction. In 1844, parishioners built a new church with a bell tower. It remained standing until 1926, when it was looted and burned down. Construction of a later church in the center began in 2000 and was completed in 2003. On June 21, 2003, this church was consecrated by Bishop Serafim (Zaliznytskyi) of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav. The sequence of dates distinguishes the earlier building from the central church built later, as separate historical phases.

Archaeological traces from the time of Rus

Archaeologists discovered two hillforts and two kurgans from the time of Rus in the territory of Mysailivka. The two terms refer to two types of archaeological findings, with two of each type mentioned. These finds add another time layer to the settlement’s history. They belong to a different period from the founding story, which places Mysailivka’s origins in the late 17th century. The historical references are therefore not interchangeable when making travel plans: the local tradition concerns the origin of the name, the church details date construction and consecration events, and the archaeological finds point to a much earlier period.
