Dnistrivka offers two distinct starting points for planning a trip: the Dniester and the marina of the “Mayak” Yacht Club, and a church history whose dates go back to the 18th century. The yacht club offers guests overnight stays in cottages by the river; the churches reflect different periods in the town’s history. This lets you consider whether the river setting, historic architecture, or both should play a part in your stay.

Marina and Accommodation on the Dniester

The “Mayak” Yacht Club is located on the banks of the Dniester in the Dniester Canyon area and has a beach. Its marina has three floating docks and capacity for up to 100 watercraft. Mooring berths and suitable docks make trips on the Dniester possible. A report from 2026 describes a boat trip organized for Ukrainian defenders that began at the yacht club. The participants viewed various yachts and boats there and then sailed on the Dniester. The club offers guests overnight stays in cozy cottages on the Dniester. If you are considering this type of accommodation, check current availability with the provider in advance.

The Building History of the Pokrovsky Church

The history of the Pokrovsky Church goes back to the village’s first wooden church. In 1756, the local community built this first church with the support of Princess Maria; it burned down in 1883. The following year, the wooden Pokrovsky Church was rebuilt on a stone foundation. Its design is considered typical of the Moscow style. At the same time, a parish school for peasants was established next to the church. Thus, the first building, its destruction, and its reconstruction form a chronological sequence; the school adds a church educational institution that also belongs to this period. The wooden structure and stone foundation describe different parts of the rebuilding. There are 128 years between the construction of the first church in 1756 and its reconstruction in 1884.

Churches and Historic Orientation

The Pokrovsky Church has no dome and features a tall, three-tiered bell tower. It lies southwest of the center of Dnistrivka; check its current condition before visiting. The Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God is also an architectural monument; the year 1894 is associated with it. The two dates have different roles: 1884 marks the reconstruction of the Pokrovsky Church, while 1894 is the date associated with the monument designation of the Church of the Dormition.

The riverside setting and the churches address different travel-planning questions: the yacht club represents the river environment and a specific accommodation option; the churches offer points of interest for those drawn to architecture and local history. Which themes you focus on depends on whether you are more interested in the Dniester or the area’s historic architecture.
