Ianca Station can be located by its railway station and road connections. Other places in the municipality are also of interest during a stay: the museum and aeroclub are in Ianca, while the church is in Târlele Filiu. This distinction helps you plan separately for the station village and the cultural and aviation-related points of interest.

Railway station and road connections

Ianca Station is located at the railway station of the same name on the Brăila–Făurei railway line. The line opened in 1872 and is the area's historic railway connection. The station and village of Ianca Station are 1 km south of Ianca. This places both the station and the village south of the town.

By road, Ianca Station is connected westward to Ianca via the DN2B and northward to Plopu via the DC 37. These directions complement the historic railway connection with two specific road links. For orientation, you can distinguish between transport mode and destination: the railway line is the station's historic connection, while the road routes identify Ianca and Plopu as reference points.

Museum and cultural points of interest

Muzeul Ianca is located at Strada Gării No. 9 in Ianca and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00. You can plan a museum visit around its opening days and four-hour window. Its location in Ianca should be distinguished from the village and station of Ianca Station.

The museum is housed in a building constructed before the Second World War. A traditional farmhouse from Oprișenești was also moved to the courtyard of Muzeul Ianca using extra-budgetary funds and opened there. These are two distinct aspects: the age of the building housing the museum, and the farmhouse's origins and relocation.

In the village of Târlele Filiu, Saints Dometie cel Milostiv and Filotimia were especially venerated at the “Sfântul Ierarh Nicolae” Church. Both lived in Târlele Filiu for a time. The location links their veneration to a biographical connection with the same village and distinguishes this cultural point of interest from the museum's history in Ianca.

Lacul Ianca is also associated with the town of Ianca: the lake is at the entrance to the town.

Aviation in Ianca

The history of aviation also has its own chronology. Aeroclubul Teritorial Ianca began operating in spring 2024 on the site of the former military airfield in Ianca. A report dated 14 February 2026 stated that courses in ultralight aircraft piloting were organized at Aeroclubul Teritorial „Aurel Răican” in Ianca starting in 2025. According to the report, pilot training began with 50 hours of theory. If you are interested in taking a course, check current enrollment, admission requirements, and training arrangements before traveling.
