Culture and History
The old wooden church in Goioasa dates back to 1837. This gives the building a clear historical connection to the 19th century and makes it a specific historical landmark.
The eleventh edition of the summer school “Util, plăcut, frumos în Lumina Lui Hristos” took place in the Agăș parish from August 18 to 24, 2025. The program included stained glass, beekeeping with a glass beehive, woodworking, pyrography, and pottery wheel work. The information refers to this edition in August 2025.
Another dated example of church activities is a bicycle trip on June 24, 2015. A church youth project took children from parishes in the Muntelui Valley to the “Pogorârea Duhului Sfânt” Monastery in the village of Cotumba, in the commune of Agăș. While the summer school brought together craft activities, this youth trip centered on a monastery as its destination.
