Discover Hellandsjøen
Accommodation in Hellandsjøen
Hellandsjøen båthavn is located in the Røstkvervet archipelago, just inside Trondheimsleia and within Magerøya and Røstøya. Fjord Cruise excursions depart from the harbour; Stokkebrygga Kafé is also located there and offers views of the water. Magerøya is a nearby historic trading post and also a destination for the excursions. A maritime museum is housed in Nothuset “Skjåen” on the island. Hellandsjøen brings together harbour amenities and a glimpse of earlier coastal culture.
Harbour facilities and supplies by the water
Stokkebrygga Kafé at Hellandsjøen båthavn has sanitary facilities and a guest harbour. There are also toilets and a fuel and water bunkering facility in the harbour. Check whether the toilets are available before you arrive. Heimsjø Marina is at the outer end of Hemnefjorden. Electricity and fresh water are available there; you can top up your water and rinse your boat. The marina is lit in the evening and at night and has power connections as well as a bathing or rescue ladder.
Summer café and time on the water
Stokkebrygga Kafé is a summer café at the harbour, serving hot and cold dishes in idyllic surroundings. Dishes include fish and chips, various types of pizza and smash burgers. Enjoy the views and sunshine until late in the evening. You can also rent paddleboards at Stokkebrygga Kafé to explore the nearby waters.
Excursions departing from Hellandsjøen
Fjord Cruise departs from Hellandsjøen båthavn aboard the 47-foot Princess boat MILLA. The boat has a flybridge and can carry up to 12 people. Shorter or longer excursions are offered to Magerøya, Røstøya, and the small and large islands around Hellandsjøen. The duration of the trip is agreed with the customer. For planning, the main considerations are therefore the destination you choose and the agreed duration.
The activities on the water differ in how you can explore: at Stokkebrygga, you can rent paddleboards to explore the nearby waters; Fjord Cruise offers trips to island destinations, with the duration agreed with the customer. This gives you two distinct options: exploring the nearby waters or taking trips to the islands.
Coastal culture on Magerøya
Magerøya is a nearby historic trading post. A maritime museum is housed in Nothuset “Skjåen” on the island, with fishing equipment and other objects from earlier coastal life. The collection focuses on fishing and life along the coast in the past, while the island’s trading history offers another historical focus. Guided tours are offered during the summer season; confirm the current arrangements before your visit. The museum thus shows a different side of the island from the excursions that visit Magerøya as a destination.
There are also two seasonal activities with different timings: Stokkebrygga is a summer café, while guided tours at Nothuset take place during the summer season.
