When looking for a hotel in Žabljak, it is worth first deciding what you want to focus on during your trip: hiking, driving the Durmitor Ring, or winter sports all offer different activities. Žabljak lies at the foot of Durmitor and is associated with 18 mountain lakes and the Tara River Canyon. This lets you tailor the landscape and activities to your travel plans.

Durmitor and the Black Lake

The lake and the surrounding forest are among the specially protected areas of Durmitor National Park. In the wider Žabljak destination, the Black Lake also features a rare bifurcation: its water flows underground into the Tara and Piva rivers.
