Discover Radviliškis through its railway history, religious buildings, school history and open-air culture. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, start by choosing a focus: which of these aspects would you like to experience locally? Then you can compare specific hotel offers according to your own requirements.

Railway History in Radviliškis

The Radviliškis steam locomotive stands near the railway station. It was built in Berlin in 1944 and is the only surviving locomotive of the T series in Lithuania. The Deportation Train Wagon is located at Laisvės al. 20 in Radviliškis and was installed near the railway station in 2012. Its creation was based on accounts from deportees and archival material. This distinction matters when choosing a theme: the locomotive focuses on a surviving vehicle and its year and place of manufacture, while the wagon is connected with accounts from deportees and archival material.

Church and Bell Tower

The Radviliškis Church of Virgin Mary and the Belfry is located in the town centre. Its tower has three bells. A wooden bell tower with distinctive architecture stands next to the church. You will therefore encounter two distinct architectural features: the church’s bell tower and the separate wooden tower beside it. The Evangelical Lutheran house of worship is also one of Radviliškis’s attractions. For a visit focused on religious architecture, the church’s location in the town centre provides a clear point of reference.

School History and Open-Air Culture

The Lizdeikos Gymnasium History Museum reopened in 2026 following reconstruction. Its collections include old teaching aids, student photographs, the first school-leaving certificates and documents from the interwar period. They also include personal belongings of former teachers, school uniforms, sports trophies and yearbooks from different graduating classes. The collection thus brings together school supplies and keepsakes with documents from different periods. If you would like to visit the museum, check its current opening hours in advance.

The Radviliškis Culture and Recreation Park is located at Radvilų g. 8A. Wooden sculptures adorn the park, which also has outdoor fitness equipment and a multifunctional children’s playground. This cultural site therefore offers both artworks and opportunities for play and exercise. The park sculptures provide a different focus from the town’s historical collections and buildings.

A Route Featuring Touch and Audio Descriptions

The “Touch the Exhibits!” route enables people with visual impairments to experience historical, artistic and cultural objects through touch and audio descriptions. It differs from a visit focused mainly on viewing buildings or exhibits: touching and listening are expressly part of this route. When choosing what to focus on during your stay, you can therefore weigh up railway history, architecture, school history, the park and this distinctive approach to interpretation.
