Discover Kingscourt
Accommodation in Kingscourt
Kingscourt brings together three distinct themes: a church building with historic windows, a 30-kilometre route connecting Navan in County Meath with Kingscourt in County Cavan, and an indoor play centre with party offerings. These highlights give you different directions for planning your trip. For a stay in Kingscourt, you can decide whether architectural history, the Greenway or an indoor attraction should shape your itinerary.
Local history: church and railway station
The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Kingscourt was built in 1872 and designed by architect William Hague. Evie Hone made four of the church’s windows between 1947 and 1948. If you are interested in architectural history, you can consider the design, year of construction and later windows as separate aspects.
Kingscourt railway station was also built in 1865. Its construction date is therefore seven years earlier than that of the church, built in 1872; the two dates give a simple chronological order within the area’s building history.
