Pali brings together coastal scenery, a hiking trail and a story that stretches from the Thermiani spring to historic baths. These places have different roles in choosing a destination: the beach and the start of the Pali–Lies hiking trail define the town, while other Thermiani sites are located outside it. This makes it possible to think of Pali both as a coastal town and in terms of hiking and cultural history.

Beach and Coastal Setting

The beach near Pali is sandy and lined with tamarisk trees; Lies and Pachia Ammos are other beaches in Pali. This combines a specific picture of the beach with other named points of reference along the town’s coast. For planning your trip, the focus is therefore not only on the general coastal setting, but also on the described beach landscape.

Hiking from Pali

The Pali–Lies hiking trail begins in the picturesque coastal town of Pali. This gives the town a clear connection to hiking as well as to the coast: the trail starts in Pali, while the beach offers a separate focus. If you want to consider both the coast and hiking for your trip, these are two distinct points to consider when choosing a destination.

Thermiani: Spring and Historic Baths

Another focus is Thermiani. The Thermiani spring in Pali has been known since antiquity. The Pantelidis thermal baths are located outside the town, along the Pali–Lies trail. The Panagia Thermiani chapel is also located in the same area, outside Pali; next to the church is a cave with a hot spring. The spring in Pali should be distinguished from the hot spring in the cave. The Thermiani area thus brings together several places associated with thermal water, which can also be understood in geographical terms: the spring and town on one side, and the chapel and baths outside Pali on the other.

From 1895 until the early 1930s, the Pantelidis baths were the last healing center operating in this area. The restored old baths are no longer in operation. Two different periods therefore sit side by side: the Thermiani spring, known since antiquity, and the historic operation of the baths. For travelers interested in culture, this contrast makes the history of the Thermiani area more tangible: a natural feature known for a long time and a healing center that operated for a clearly defined period.

Celebration on June 30

Every year on June 30, Pali holds a celebration in honor of the Holy Apostles. This recurring date gives the cultural side of the destination a specific day on the calendar and offers a different reason to travel than the beach or hiking trail. If you would like to plan your trip around the celebration, June 30 can serve as a reference point.

Pali as a Destination for Your Hotel Search

A trip to Pali can focus on different things: the beach, the hiking trail and the June 30 celebration. The story of Thermiani adds a historical perspective to these highlights, although the chapel and baths are located outside Pali.
