Tři Studně lies in the Žďárské vrchy landscape area. This lets you choose where to stay based on specific interests.

Leisure and seasons

Tři Studně offers opportunities for summer and winter tourism. Leisure activities include hiking, cycling, mushroom picking and climbing. This selection extends beyond the two routes described in detail. To plan your trip, you can first decide whether a particular route or another leisure interest should shape your stay.

At Sykovec Pond

Sykovec Pond has a grassy beach and a very gently sloping sandy entry into the water. Swimming is possible there, though conditions can vary with the season. If you include the pond in your travel plans, check the bathing conditions before your visit.

Hiking and cycling

The 10 km hiking trip “Kolem Sykovce a Medlova” starts at the car park in Tři Studně. Its length and starting point give you two concrete reference points for planning the route. Another option is the 28 km road loop “Na Tři Studně,” which leads into the area around the well-known Tři Studně sports and recreation complex. As a road cycling route, it differs from the hike both in how you travel and in its length. Trail, car park and road conditions can change; check them before setting out. The road loop is therefore 18 km longer than the hike.

Springs, art and music history

At the car park in Tři Studně, the starting point of the hiking trip, stands a statue of Hejkal Pepíno by Michal Olšiak. From the edge of Tři Studně, a well-marked forest path about 400 metres long leads to the Barborka and Vitulka springs. At the springs, simple wooden benches form a natural amphitheatre; nearby is a covered shelter that serves musicians in bad weather. The Barborka and Vitulka springs near Tři Studně inspired Bohuslav Martinů to compose his cantata “Otvírání studánek.” At about 400 metres, the path to the springs is considerably shorter than the 10 km hike and the 28 km road loop. These three route lengths offer different scales for your planning, while the springs also provide a tangible connection to music history.

A signpost in Náměstí EU

In Náměstí EU in Tři Studně, there is a signpost showing distances to the world’s largest metropolises. It offers a different focus from the hike, the pond and the springs: rather than a local natural or cultural attraction, it highlights global distances. As a point of interest in its own right, it complements the other specific destinations with a view beyond the region.
