Stropešín on the Dalešice Reservoir
Accommodation in Stropešín
Stropešín lies on the right bank of the Dalešice Reservoir. When choosing a destination for your hotel stay, you can explore two interests here: the reservoir and its boating and tour options, as well as the settlement’s history and buildings. This gives you two distinct focuses for planning your trip: water activities and local history.
Boat trips and trails along the Dalešice Reservoir
The Třesov landing stage serves as a boarding and disembarking point for boat trips. It is near Stropešínský most, the bridge between Třesov and Stropešín. From there, you can combine boat trips with hikes or bike rides on either side of the Dalešice Reservoir. When planning, you can decide whether you want to focus on being out on the water or combine it with activity on land.
Route 5107 leads from Stropešín on to Dalešice; check the current signs before setting out. An approximately 500-metre detour from Stropešín to Stropešínská vyhlídka on the Dalešice Reservoir is also recommended. Check current trail conditions and markings before taking this detour. The information outlines two planning options: a trail connection to another place and a short detour to a viewpoint.
Traces from different eras
The settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1125, under the historical name Strupišin. Its history reaches back even further, to Neolithic settlement, evidenced by finds of polished stone tools. The area’s history thus brings together archaeological traces from the Stone Age and a specific written record of its name from the Middle Ages. A local chapel probably dates from the second half of the 19th century and is a distinctive landmark in the municipality.
The municipality included the isolated settlement of Stropešínský mlýn, with a sawmill on the Jihlávka River. The river is therefore also part of the area’s history: the sawmill stood along its course. The chapel and the historic isolated settlement offer different points of interest if you want to learn not only about the first written mention, but also about the area’s further development.
Stropešínský most
Stropešínský most is 260 metres long. Its reinforced concrete structure was built in 1979 and consists of three spans supported by two piers. The length indicates the extent of the structure; the number of spans and piers gives an insight into its construction. Alongside the local chapel, the bridge represents a structure from a different era: the chapel probably dates from the second half of the 19th century, while the bridge was built in 1979. These specific buildings complement the settlement’s longer history with examples from more recent periods.
Planning your stay
Stropešín has a shop with a mixed range of goods. If you plan to shop, check the opening hours before your visit. When deciding between the trip’s different focuses, consider whether boat trips and combining them with hikes or bike rides matter more to you than historical traces and buildings. If Stropešín fits your plans, you can search for hotels for your stay.
