With the exception of the Bílka–Milešov section, it is also suitable for mountain bikes and trekking bikes. The Lovosice–Házmburk–Lovosice cycling route runs through Sedlec and is approximately 50 kilometers long. These figures are close, but refer to different routes: 47 kilometers is the hiking route, with the stated exception for bicycles, while approximately 50 kilometers is the cycling route. The 12-kilometer route is shorter than the 47-kilometer route.
From Libochovice město railway station, a red-marked trail about 3.5 kilometers long leads through fields to Házmburk Castle. Here, the station, the trail through the fields and the castle provide practical directions for getting there. Trail markings, conditions and access arrangements may change; check the latest information before setting out or visiting.
Local history and memorials
The earliest surviving written mention of Sedlec dates from 1237. In the second half of the 14th century, the village came into the possession of the Zajíc of Valdek family. These are two distinct points of reference for the local history: the early written mention and a later change of ownership.
Next to the Chapel of the Guardian Angel stands a memorial to the fallen of the First World War, erected in 1928. The chapel was renovated and reconsecrated in the 1990s. The dates are therefore distinct: the memorial is dated 1928, while the chapel’s renovation and reconsecration took place in the 1990s.
