Discover Hřivice
Accommodation in Hřivice
Hřivice lies on the edge of Džbán Nature Park and combines archaeological traces with marked hiking trails and nature attractions. Hradiště Na Šancích is located above the village, and the Hasina flows through the valley. Springs and an educational trail offer additional points of interest. When choosing a destination for your stay, these different themes can help you identify what interests you: local history, protected nature, or trails and landscapes.
Hradiště Na Šancích and its history
Hradiště Na Šancích lies just above Hřivice, on the summit of Okrouhlík, 440 metres above sea level. The surviving remains include an approximately three-metre-high rampart and a ditch. Studánka Bělka also has a historical connection: it already served as a water source when the nearby hillfort was inhabited. Alongside the surviving remains, this offers a glimpse of the earlier use of water, dating back to the period of settlement.
Natural surroundings, valley and protected area
One notable protected area is the Kozinecká stráň natural monument, the only state-protected natural area that extends into Hřivice’s cadastral territory. Its conservation objectives include remnants of thermophilous oak woodland with numerous important protected plant species, as well as a thriving population of white dittany. Both woodland remnants and plant populations are therefore central to its conservation. The Hasina stream, formerly also known as Hřivický potok, flows through the Hřivice valley. The geographical settings differ: Hřivice lies on the edge of Džbán Nature Park, the natural monument extends into the cadastral territory, and the Hasina flows through the valley.
Springs, hiking trails and educational trail
Two marked hiking trails pass through Hřivice. Studánka Bělka lies on the slope below the junction of the green- and blue-marked trails. Hřivická Studánka in Vinici can be reached from Hřivice by following a green-marked trail and then taking a short spur. The two springs offer different points of reference for finding your way: Bělka is identified by its hillside location and the trail junction, while Hřivická Studánka is reached via the marked trail and short spur.
The U Petra a Pavla educational trail explains the functions of the forest, offering a different focus from the spring sites: here, the role of the forest takes centre stage. If you want to plan your stay around specific themes, you can choose between archaeological history, springs and trails, or the forest.
Cycling throughout the year
Many cyclists ride through Hřivice from spring to autumn. Cycling is therefore a seasonal aspect to consider when choosing the village; the nature and history themes, by contrast, point to specific landscape features. This distinction can help you tailor your travel plans to your interests and preferred time of year.
