You can plan a trip to Rebešovice around two specific themes: cycling on the Brno–Vienna network and the architectural history of local buildings and monuments. If you are looking for a hotel, you can first consider whether the route or the local cultural history should be the main focus of your stay. The following details bring out the different aspects.

Cycling on the Brno–Vienna network

The cycling routes used in Rebešovice are part of the Brno–Vienna cycling network. The route runs mostly along quiet paths away from main roads and has no steep climbs. As routes may change, check the current route before setting off.

In autumn 2022, the cycling route through Rebešovice was changed and replaced by a new detour. The detour described at the time first followed the riverbank, crossed fields to Rebešovický rybník, passed the local willow nursery, and crossed a small bridge over the Ivanovický potok. Beyond it, the route rejoined the existing route towards Olympia.

Architectural History and Monuments

The Zámeček

In 1694, Provost Benno Brancouzský had the Zámeček built on the site of an older manor farm. The Zámeček houses the Chapel of St Dorothy, where Mass is held every Saturday. The building also contains a castle restaurant and a library. If you plan to visit one of these facilities or attend Mass, check the latest information beforehand; visitor facilities and church service arrangements may change.

Chapel of St John of Nepomuk

The Chapel of St John of Nepomuk stands on the slope below the Zámeček, by a water spring. The late Baroque building dates from the 18th century; a statue of the saint stands by the spring. The chapel is considered a valuable cultural and historical monument and contributes to Rebešovice’s character.

Rococo Cross and Bell Tower

The cast-iron Rococo cross dates from 1778. It stands on an unusual red sandstone pedestal with a high relief of Our Lady of Sorrows. The Neoclassical, rustic-style bell tower stands on the village square. It was built around 1830 and has a square floor plan. The construction dates place the landmarks in sequence: the 1694 Zámeček is followed by the 1778 cross and the bell tower from around 1830; only the date for the bell tower is given as approximate. The features described also differ: the cross is distinguished by its material and relief, while the bell tower is characterized by its style and floor plan.

Sports and Events

Events may also influence your choice of travel dates. TJ Sokol Rebešovice organizes numerous sporting events and tournaments every year. The Rebešovické Hody on 7 and 8 February 2026 included a procession of the Stárci through the village and a Moravská beseda performed by the Stárci in front of the Zámeček. These dates are in the past; if a festival is the reason for your trip, check the dates for your planned stay.
