Neslovice between churches, nature and trails
Accommodation in Neslovice
Neslovice combines sacred architectural history with a protected natural site and trails that offer different experiences. When planning your trip, you can first consider whether churches, landscapes or outdoor activities interest you most. The local sights and described routes offer concrete points of reference.
Churches, chapels and a pilgrimage date
The Parish Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a late Baroque building dating from 1782 to 1784. In the second half of the 19th century, the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre was added. The construction period and later addition represent two distinct chapters in the church’s history.
Neslovice’s centre is also home to a bell tower with the early 19th-century Neoclassical Chapel of Saint Gotthard and Saint Florian. This site adds another sacred landmark to the picture alongside the parish church. The pilgrimage celebrating the Nativity of the Virgin Mary takes place on 8 September and is called “rozmarýnové hody.” If you plan your trip around this date, check the latest programme details locally.
Another point of cultural and historical interest lies outside the edge of the village: the Neoclassical wayside shrine known as “Boží muka” stands about one kilometre southeast of Neslovice, on the road towards Hlína. Its approximate distance and direction help you locate it; the shrine is a different landmark from the bell tower in the centre.
Patočkova hora: nature monument and views
Patočkova hora is a nature monument situated just above the road at the entrance to Neslovice from the direction of Tetčice. Remnants of the former steppe vegetation have been protected across a defined area of one hectare since 1984. The large-flowered pasque flower is a particularly notable feature. The protected site combines a specific botanical highlight with an easily identifiable landscape landmark.
Patočkova hora also offers views of more than half of the municipalities in the Kahan microregion. For your trip planning, these are two distinct aspects of the same place: the preserved remnants of steppe vegetation and the expansive views across the municipalities. Local access conditions may vary; check them before your visit.
Trails and outdoor activities
The trail between Neslovice and Tetčice passes through pastures on the section from Neslovice and includes a cattle shelter. Another route description concerns the Stezka permoníků: it passes through Neslovice and Kratochvilka, then turns right towards the historic educational trail “Naučná stezka Rosickou historií.” The two trails therefore differ in what you encounter along the way: pastures and a cattle shelter on one, and a route through two villages followed by the educational trail on the other. Check the route and signage before setting out.
The Indian Playground is located on Žleby Street in Neslovice. It includes a large play area with various play features, a training area, a skateboard ramp and a rope centre. The areas offer different kinds of activity, from playing and training to skateboarding. Individual play equipment and opening arrangements may change; check the current facilities and applicable rules before your visit.
