Specific features of Kuničky include the chapel on the village square, views from the eastern edge, forests to the north and two cycling routes. If you are choosing a destination based on its landscape, local history or cycling, these topics can help you get a sense of the different sides of the village.

Views and landscape

From the eastern edge of Kuničky, there are views towards Černá Hora, the Chlumy hills near Obora, and the Kunštátsko and Olešnicko areas. The Bohemian-Moravian Highlands can be seen in the background. These landmarks range from individual landscape features to larger areas.

The hill of Babylon lies in the forests north of Kuničky, towards Němčice and Újezd u Boskovic. At 663 m, it is the highest point in the landscape. The eastern edge and Babylon offer different ways to get your bearings: views there over several named areas, and here a single hill with a stated elevation.

Chapel and castle ruins

The small chapel on the village square in Kuničky was built in 1868 and is dedicated to Cyril and Methodius. It replaced an earlier wooden bell tower and was decorated with images of the Slavic Apostles and Saint Florian. The year it was built, its dedication and its decorations offer insight into different aspects of the chapel’s history.

Another trace of history is the ruins of Doubravice Castle in the forest between Kuničky and Doubravice nad Svitavou. The contrast in location is clear: the chapel stands on the village square, while the castle ruins lie in the forest between the two villages.

Cycling routes and their itineraries

Cycling Route 5203 starts on the village square in Kuničky, follows a forest track to Újezd u Boskovic, then continues through the Pilské údolí towards Boskovice. Route 5204 comes from Huť sv. Antonie via Obora and Doubravice nad Svitavou to Kuničky, then continues towards Němčice. One helpful distinction for finding your way is that Kuničky is the starting point for Route 5203, while on Route 5204 it comes after the previously mentioned stops. The routes can therefore be distinguished by their locations and directions.
