If you are looking for a hotel in Celoznice, you can start by choosing a destination based on its features: are you particularly interested in the landscape and wildlife, local history or hiking routes? Celoznice offers a range of points of interest. The following sections can help you understand these different aspects and decide which ones matter for planning your trip.

Landscape, forests and springs

Celoznice lies at the southern foot of the Chřiby Hills. The Čeložnický potok stream rises at the Kolomaznica spring in the municipality’s northern wooded area. This describes both the municipality’s location at the foot of the hills and a specific source of the watercourse. These are two distinct points of reference for understanding the natural landscape: the municipality’s location and a spring within its northern woodland.

Celoznice’s forests are home to roe deer, wild boar and red deer. Goshawks and common buzzards can also be observed there. The wildlife includes several mammal species as well as two birds of prey, which visitors may be able to spot.

North of Celoznice, a mature wild service tree stands in a significant landscape feature and has been proposed as a commemorative tree. The Smrďavka spring is located on the edge of the Pastviny recreation area. Together, these local features point to different natural landmarks: a single mature tree and a spring associated with the recreation area.

Hiking trails and travel

The yellow-marked hiking trail from Kyjov leads to Celoznice. The Via Czechia route also provides specific landmarks for navigation around Celoznice: it passes 400 m off the marked trail by the bell tower, then continues along a cellar street. These trail details answer different questions: the yellow-marked trail connects Kyjov and Celoznice, while the Via Czechia route describes the section away from the marked trail and identifies the bell tower and cellar street as landmarks. This can help you decide whether your plans depend on the route to Celoznice or on navigating by these local features.

Local history and cultural monuments

Celoznice was first mentioned in writing in 1131. Two immovable cultural monuments are listed in the state register. One is the bell tower in the centre, built in 1854. It bears a sundial that is considered a surviving example of the local builders’ craftsmanship. The construction year and sundial link a specific date with a surviving detail of craftsmanship at the bell tower.

The wayside cross beside the road is the second cultural monument in Celoznice listed in the state register. The year 1802 is engraved on the cross. The dates have different meanings: 1802 is engraved on the wayside cross, while 1854 is the year the bell tower was built. If you are interested in local history, you can distinguish the two monuments by their respective details.
