If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Čermákovice, you can plan your visit around local points of interest. Cycle route No. 5006 runs through the municipality; the chapel, memorial lime tree, Alinkov farmstead and former fortress offer different historical points of reference. The local history includes settlement dating back to the Neolithic period and a continuous agricultural character. Cycling and local history therefore provide two specific focal points for your trip.

Early settlement and local history

The area around Čermákovice was already settled in the Neolithic period. The first written mention of the village dates from 1270. These two facts mark different historical points of reference: the Neolithic period indicates the early settlement of the area, while 1270 is the first written mention of Čermákovice. Throughout its history, the municipality has been exclusively agricultural in character.

Chapel and memorial lime tree

The Chapel of St James the Greater stands right next to the municipal office; it dates from 1896. Čermákovice is also home to a lime tree planted in 1937 in memory of T. G. Masaryk’s death. The two sites can be distinguished by their function: the chapel is a religious building, while the lime tree’s planting commemorates a specific occasion. It was planted 41 years after the chapel was built.

Alinkov: farm complex and Anabaptist history

Alinkov farmstead is a preserved, enclosed rectangular courtyard complex. The complex includes an adjoining residential building with a mill. The farmstead building features sgraffito decorations on its façade. Alinkov was a historic Anabaptist settlement; the farmstead is privately owned. Alinkov can therefore be understood both through its architectural form and its historical significance.

Traces of the former fortress

Another historical point of interest is the former fortress of Čermákovice. It has almost entirely disappeared. However, a depression and a change in ground level are still visible in the gardens belonging to residential houses, recalling the medieval structure. Unlike the chapel, the focus here is not on a surviving building but on the shape of the terrain.

Cycle route and Rokytná Nature Park

The 90-kilometre-long cycle route No. 5006 runs from Znojmo via Moravský Krumlov to Jevišovice and passes through Čermákovice. The route runs mostly on paved roads and is suitable for all types of bicycle. This information helps you answer two practical planning questions: what surface to expect and which type of bicycle is suitable for the route.

Part of the municipality lies within Rokytná Nature Park. The nature park designation therefore applies not to the entire municipality but to a geographically limited area. It is a distinct landscape feature alongside the cycle route that passes through Čermákovice.
