Jinín combines sacred heritage, protected historic buildings and a distinctive landscape with two very different leisure interests: fishing and motocross. When looking for a hotel in Jinín, it helps to first decide what brings you there: would you like to explore its pilgrimage history, are you interested in its natural surroundings, or is a specific activity the main focus? Its cultural monuments, ecological areas and sporting activities offer different starting points.

Cultural Heritage Between the Town and the Sunken Lane

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Jinín was one of the important pilgrimage churches in the Strakonice area. Its historical significance is therefore rooted in the region. The church has historic bells, some of which date from the late Middle Ages. For those interested in cultural history, two perspectives come together here: the pilgrimage tradition and a specific historical connection through the bells.

The stone wayside shrines at Na Žalosti stand about 600 metres northwest of Jinín beside a sunken lane and are a distinctive feature of the landscape. Farmstead No. 14 in Jinín is designated an immovable cultural monument. It draws attention to rural architecture and adds another aspect of local cultural heritage to the sacred sites.

The cultural sites offer different points of interest: the church and farmstead are in Jinín, while Na Žalosti is beside the sunken lane to the northwest. The history of the town is thus linked with a distinctive feature of the surrounding landscape.

Landscape and Ecological Areas

U Bambulice lies on the northern edge of Jinín and is a functioning local biocentre covering 7.59 hectares. It includes small water bodies, alluvial forests and small meadows in the floodplain of the Zorkovický potok. This combination brings together water, wooded areas and open landscape within a designated area.

The Zorkovický potok above Jinín forms a 3.92-hectare local biocorridor that is only partially functional. It lies in a narrow floodplain within a more pronounced valley cut into the hilly landscape. U Bambulice is therefore larger than the biocorridor, and the two also have different functional classifications. The two landscape areas thus differ both in size and in their respective ecological functions.

Fishing and Motocross as Reasons to Visit

Rybářský ráj Jinín is a fishing site with a guesthouse. Fishing can be booked. This applies to fishing; before travelling, you should confirm the availability of both the fishing facilities and the guesthouse directly.

MX-ENDURO Park Jinín has a medium-difficulty motocross track measuring 1,920 metres in length, with an elevation difference of 37 metres. The park also has a children’s motocross track. Numerous competitions are held at the park, ranging from amateur races to the Junior Motocross World Championship. The main track’s length, elevation difference and difficulty rating offer different points of reference. If you are travelling specifically for a competition, check the event dates in advance.
