Depending on whether you place greater emphasis on historic village structures or natural areas, you can focus your stay in different ways. One of the municipality’s most significant sights is the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas.

Village Square, Farmsteads and Historic Buildings

Dynín was designated a village with a protected conservation zone on 19 November 1990. The ensemble of 19th-century granaries is distinguished by mostly plain façades, triangular gables and sawtooth ornamentation. The arrangement of the farmsteads is also part of the village’s character: they are situated around a large, almost rectangular village square. In addition, Dynín has preserved a number of brick vernacular buildings dating from around the turn of the 20th century. This brings individual architectural details and the layout of the village square together as two distinct points of interest.

A specific example of the built heritage is Farmstead No. 25, a listed immovable cultural monument. The complex comprises a residential section, a granary, a gateway and pedestrian gate, stables, and a barn. These components bring the multi-part complex to life and complement the picture of the granaries and other village buildings. Together with the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas, they create a focus on architectural heritage and sights without limiting these themes to a single building.

The Municipality’s History

Dynín’s history spans different periods. Construction of the school began in April 1923, and classes started there in October of the same year. A much earlier change is associated with Záblatský Pond: when the pond was expanded, the former village of Německá Lhota and its farmsteads were flooded between 1580 and 1582. These two events represent separate chapters in the municipality’s history—the start of school lessons in the 20th century and the loss of a village during the expansion of the pond in the 16th century.

Ponds and Protected Landscapes

The landscape can also be explored through specific places. Dolní dynínský Pond is part of the Záblatská pond system. The eastern part of the municipality of Dynín lies within the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. This brings together different scales for planning a trip: an individual pond, a pond system, and a protected area that encompasses part of the municipality.

Nearby is Hliníř, designated a natural monument in the cadastral areas of Bošilec and Lhota u Dynína. This small bog area has several shallow pools and adjoins a pond. It protects a valuable transitional mire ecosystem with protected and endangered plant and animal species. Hliníř also includes aquatic habitats with shoreline vegetation and scattered trees. For nature enthusiasts, the landscape features described here are distinct: a bog, shallow pools, an adjoining pond, and other aquatic habitats.

Exploring by Bike

Cycling route 1134 passes through Dynín. If you plan to include this route in your itinerary, check the route conditions and signage before setting off. When choosing a hotel, you may also want to consider whether you would prefer to focus your stay on historic village structures, sights, or the landscape. These themes can help guide your trip planning without needing to be combined into a single excursion.
