When looking for a hotel in Cihelny, it helps to have a clear reason for your trip. Golf, wellness, architecture and geological landscapes offer different experiences. Consider which of these you want to shape your stay and which topics you would like to include in your daily plans.

Golf Course and Practice Facilities

Cihelny Golf & Wellness Resort has a professional 18-hole golf course with a par of 70. The Gary Player Course was created by Gary Player Design Company. The golf course includes a putting green and a chipping green. Beginners can practise their drives and putting at the driving range; clubs are available to borrow free of charge. The course and practice areas answer different questions: the 18 holes and par 70 describe the course, while the greens and driving range provide specific practice facilities. Before travelling, check the course’s current operating conditions, as well as the availability of the practice facilities and club hire. Par 70 refers to the expected total number of strokes over 18 holes.

Villa and Wellness Centre

Château Cihelny is an architecturally striking villa, not technically a château. It was built in 1890 to designs by Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer and is located in the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area. The year it was built places the villa in the late 19th century; the architects’ names give the building a specific historical connection. The wellness centre at Château Cihelny includes a swimming pool with views of nature, a whirlpool, a Kneipp path and three saunas: a steam sauna, a salt sauna and a Finnish sauna. It is also open to the public. Check current availability before visiting.

Granite Landscape and Hiking Route

Moučné pytle is a protected natural monument in the Slavkovský les. What is protected is the block disintegration of granite—the division of the rock into individual blocks. The site lies about 2 km west of Cihelny in the Teplá valley. It includes a series of granite outcrops and rock cliffs, some of which are up to 7 m high.

A yellow-marked hiking route runs from the Cihelny stop to the Svatošské skály, covering 3.5 km with an elevation gain of 140 m. The distance indicates the route length, while the elevation gain is another factor to consider when planning a hike. The nature experiences are therefore distinct: Moučné pytle is a geological natural monument, while the route leads to the Svatošské skály and has a named starting point and specific distance and elevation figures.

Getting There and Finding a Hotel
