Nebeská Rybná offers several specific points of interest for a stay: its location between two streams, the Church of Saints Philip and James, a historic cemetery, and hiking trails. These help you get a sense of the destination through its local history and the trails described. It is also worth noting the difference in timing between the local features that remain and a former leisure activity.

A village between two streams

Nebeská Rybná lies on a rise between the Zdobnice and Říčka streams. The village is classified as a small clustered settlement. This classification identifies the settlement type; its position between the waterways provides a second point of reference. Together, these features draw attention to both the village’s layout and its landscape setting. If you would like to choose a destination not only for a single attraction but also for the character of its settlement, these two features offer a useful starting point for your plans.

Church and cemetery

The Neoclassical Church of Saints Philip and James stands on the site of a wooden church dating from 1621. That date refers to the earlier building. The present church is located on an open rise above the road from Rokytnice v Orlických horách to Zdobnice. Its building history and location offer different ways to understand the church: the former wooden church on the one hand, and its prominent position on a rise on the other.

The cemetery in Nebeská Rybná was established in 1656 beside the original church. Its circular, unenclosed layout adds two specific design features to the historical picture. Together with its founding year, these features give the cemetery a distinct character: the date points to its establishment beside the original church, while its shape and lack of an enclosure describe its distinctive design.

Two lime trees by a wayside cross

The “Lípy u křížku na Nebeské Rybné” (“Lime Trees by the Wayside Cross in Nebeská Rybná”) are a protected group of two lime trees. They are located by a cross near house No. 51 in Nebeská Rybná; the protected area has a radius of 13 metres. The name, number of trees, and location make the group a small-scale natural monument in its own right, alongside the church and cemetery. If you are interested in trees and protected natural features, this site is distinct from the historic buildings. The stated protection radius applies to the group of trees.

Hiking trails and route choices

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Nebeská Rybná via Rokytnice v Orlických horách to Žamberk. The order of the places gives you a clear guide to the route; check the current trail markings locally. Route 79, “To the Churches and Chapels around Zdobnice and Říčky,” also passes through Nebeská Rybná. This route is listed in a description published in 2023. The two descriptions have different emphases: the yellow route focuses on the connection between three places, while Route 79 focuses on churches and chapels. This lets you distinguish the routes by their stated course or theme.

A former leisure activity

The former FotbalPark Nebeská Rybná was known as a place to play footgolf. The facility covered about 2.5 hectares and consisted of 18 holes made from natural materials such as wood and stone. According to an official announcement, the golf course has not existed since 1 January 2026. The area, number of holes, and materials therefore describe the former facility, not an activity currently available. If you are planning activities for your stay, bear this distinction in mind and do not plan on playing footgolf in Nebeská Rybná as a current option.
