Načeradec combines a historic town center with its location in the Blaník Protected Landscape Area. When planning your trip, you can therefore choose between exploring the townscape, its cultural history and the routes through the landscape. There are also several activities to choose from: a cycling route, the Sovova nature trail and fishing at Obecník, which requires a permit. You can decide what to focus on during your stay, whether you want to include historical sites, a bike ride, a nature trail or fishing.

Town Center and Historic Buildings

The historic town center is arranged around a spacious, slightly irregular, roughly rectangular square. Its shape is not strictly geometric: the layout combines generous dimensions with a slight irregularity. Načeradec has mostly small-scale, low-rise historic buildings, some of which have a rural character. A large Baroque chateau stands on the eastern side of the square. The shape of the square, the low-rise buildings and the large structure together define the townscape. If you are exploring the town through its architecture, you can take into account not only individual buildings but also the spatial arrangement of the center.

Church History and Regional Heritage

The historic heritage spans different periods and takes different forms. The origins of the Church of St. Peter and Paul date back to the second half of the 12th century. The Načeradec Missal dates from the late 13th century and is considered the oldest surviving written monument in the Benešov region. The Jewish cemetery dates from the 18th century and bears witness to the former presence of a larger Jewish community. The history ranges from a church building and a medieval manuscript to an 18th-century cemetery; these sites represent different aspects of the town’s past.

Landscape and Routes

Načeradec lies in the Blaník Protected Landscape Area and enjoys a picturesque setting with beautiful panoramic views. The “Po stopách blanických rytířů” cycling route is 32 kilometers long, rated moderate and leads to Načeradec. The Sovova nature trail follows forest and field paths, runs parallel to the green-marked hiking route and continues to Načeradec and Velký Blaník. Both route descriptions name Načeradec as a destination; the nature trail also leads to Velký Blaník. You can choose based on your preferred type of outing: cycling along a 32-kilometer route rated moderate, or following a nature trail over forest and field paths.

Visiting Obecník

Fishing at Obecník is subject to specific seasonal conditions. From May 1 to December 31, fishing is permitted only with a permit. If you plan to fish, check the permit requirements before your visit. Parking for cars at the dam is signposted. The fishing regulations and parking information therefore relate to two separate planning questions: the permit required for an activity and the signposted parking at the dam.
