Hostovlice lies in the Čáslav Uplands at an elevation of 281 metres. The first documented mention of the village dates from 1244. The estate in Hostovlice remained in the possession of the Auersperg family until 1945. This places an early mention alongside a history of ownership with a later end date. The elevation adds a geographical context to these historical points of reference for the destination.

Local History and Tradition

A square bell tower stands on the village green and is associated with the local legend “O Hostovlické zvoničce”. Remains of the so-called “Hladová” wall have also survived in Hostovlice to this day. The bell tower connects a distinctive architectural form with local tradition, while the wall remains add another element to the village’s history.

History and Guided Tours Nearby

Nearby, Žleby Chateau offers a glimpse into the everyday life of the nobility in the 19th century. Obora Žleby offers a different focus: special guided tours give families memorable experiences. The two attractions therefore have different themes: the chateau focuses on aristocratic life, while Obora offers a guided experience. Conditions for visiting the chateau may vary; booking and availability for tours at Obora may also vary. Check the respective conditions before making plans.

Cycling Route and Fishing Waters

Cycling route 0117 runs from Čáslav via Tupadly, Schořov and Bratčice to Hostovlice. In Hostovlice, it connects to Route 1 towards Ronov nad Doubravou and Třemošnice. The sequence of villages along route 0117 and its connection to Route 1 provide two specific reference points for planning a cycling trip. Check the signage and route conditions before setting off.

Panský rybník is a 0.36-hectare fishing water in the cadastral area of Hostovlice. It opened to anglers as a new shared fishing water on 1 August 2026. If you are planning a fishing visit, check the applicable fishing regulations beforehand.
