The Municipality of Čađavica is a suitable destination for a trip focused on nature, cycling and activities on the water.

Nature and Biodiversity

The Dravska priča Visitor Centre introduces visitors to the biological diversity of Mura-Drava Regional Park and the Mura-Drava-Danube Biosphere Reserve. Protected plant and animal species are presented in themed rooms. The exhibition thus connects the landscapes of the protected areas with their flora and fauna.

The protected park around the centre includes a riverside path along a canal, with a lookout point. A rescue and care station looks after white storks that can no longer live independently in the wild due to various injuries. Nature education and the care of these birds are therefore distinct aspects of the site.

Cycling and Canoe Trips

Dravska priča organises cycling tours and provides bicycles and equipment. The offer includes 76 bicycles for visitors of different ages, as well as helmets and vests. As equipment availability may change, check directly before making your plans.

For trips on the water, the centre has ten canoes with capacity for up to 40 people in total. Safety vests are provided for organised trips on the Drava or its tributaries. The details differ by activity: the bicycles are intended for visitors of different ages, while the canoes also have a specified group capacity. Check actual availability before planning a canoe trip.

The centre can adapt its programmes to the individual wishes of visitors. For cycling route orientation in the region: the eastern section of the Drava Route, or EuroVelo 13, runs between Terezino Polje and Čađavica. Check the signage and trail conditions before setting off.

Culture and Events

In Čađavica, KUD Podravina holds a folklore showcase as part of the annual municipal day celebration, “Petrovo,” which takes place at the end of June. Programme details may vary; check the specific dates if you wish to plan your trip around the event.

The municipality also holds an event dedicated to the so-called Slavonian kolinje; members of KUD Podravina Čađavica have taken part. Check the dates and programme separately if this is important to your plans. As a historical reference, the breeding of Arabian horses began at Ergela Čađavica in 1995.

Getting Around and Accommodation

Čađavica is connected by road to the Slatina–Osijek route. The Dravska priča Visitor Centre is located at Noskovci 2a, 33523 Čađavica; check the contact details before travelling.

The visitor centre also has accommodation for visitors. If you are considering this option, confirm current availability directly.
