Jert, St. Fuska and Uvala Sv. Juraj differ in their seabeds, dimensions and access routes. There are also routes and historic churches, giving you various points of reference for planning your stay in Pinezici.

Beaches: seabeds, dimensions and access

Jert consists of pebbles, concrete and smaller stones and measures 75 Ă— 12 metres. St. Fuska is a pebble beach measuring 160 Ă— 6 metres. At Uvala Sv. Juraj, rocks and small stones alternate; it measures 220 Ă— 5 metres. The figures allow for a direct comparison: the first measurement is greatest at Uvala Sv. Juraj, while the second is greatest at Jert. The seabeds also differ across the three stretches of coast.

Jert can be reached by car via a paved road; you can also get to the beach by bicycle or on foot. St. Fuska is accessible by car via an unpaved road, as well as by bicycle, on foot or by boat. You can reach Uvala Sv. Juraj by bicycle, on foot or by boat. As road conditions can change, check access before setting out.

If you are travelling with children or planning as a non-swimmer, Uvala Sv. Juraj and Rabasaj are considered suitable. This assessment may depend on the conditions at the time. Information about suitability therefore does not replace checking the conditions on site.

Routes around Pinezići

Route B-425, “U sjeni velikih hrastova,” runs from Milohnići through Brzac, Poljica, Žgaljići, Pinezići and Linardići, and back to Milohnići. Pinezići is therefore one of several named places along this route. Check current route conditions before setting out, as they can change.

Hiking route H125 runs through the Picik forest and above the bays of Valbiska and St. Fusca. The historic church of St. Fusca near Pinezići is close to the route. The two routes offer different points of reference: B-425 explicitly passes through Pinezići, while H125 runs through the Picik forests and above the named bays.

Church history and architecture

The Church of St. Fuska by the Sea, below Pinezići, is first mentioned in the Vatican archives in 1338. It is a single-nave church with a rectangular apse, a porch and a bell gable. Restoration work uncovered Roman wall remains, bricks, roof tiles and amphorae beneath it. The site thus brings together architectural features of a church and finds from Roman times.

The church served as a gathering place for worshippers from the surrounding area until the parish seat was moved to Linardići. A new church with the same dedication was consecrated in Linardići in 1909. This sequence helps distinguish the church below Pinezići from the church consecrated later in Linardići.

Planning your stay

When choosing a hotel in Pinezici, you can start by considering which excursions you want to shape your plans. Make a note of your preferred beach stretches or H125, then compare your choices with the specific address of the hotel listing. This lets you take different access routes and the places that interest you into account when searching.

As a regional point of reference, the Valbiska–Merag ferry route connects the islands of Krk and Cres; the crossing takes 25 minutes. If this connection is part of your trip, check the timetable in advance.
