Discover Mali Turini
Accommodation in Mali Turini
The L50125 county road passes through Mali Turini along the Grašići–Županići–Marići–Veli Turini–Mali Turini–Kunj corridor. OPG Turinela offers a specific local culinary connection with its olive oil and three Istrian spirits. The wider destination of Općina Sveta Nedelja also offers walking and cycling trails, as well as cultural heritage.
Olive Oil and Istrian Spirits
Turinela’s olive grove in Mali Turini has 600 trees. It lies at an altitude of 247 metres above sea level, on red soil—specific features of the area’s agricultural landscape. OPG Turinela offers olive oil and three Istrian spirits: Cherrinela, Limoncela and Medicela. This makes it possible to explore the culinary theme through both an agricultural product and three individually named spirits.
Turinela has a tasting room for up to eight people, and free parking is also available. Its limited capacity is a useful point of reference if you are considering a visit as part of your travel plans. The products give the area a distinctive culinary character, without requiring any particular event or visitor programme.
Walking Trails and Scenery Nearby
A nearby walking option is the Staza kalića i bukalete, a ten-kilometre trail rated as easy and based in Nedešćina. The route brings together Istrian vineyards, freshwater ponds and traditional Istrian cuisine. Here, landscape and food culture go hand in hand: vineyards and water features form the scenic element, while traditional cuisine provides the culinary connection.
The nearby Boksitna pruga offers a different focus. The trail follows the route of a former bauxite railway used during the mining era in Labinština. Rock cuttings, stone embankments and natural rock sculptures shape the route. Here, the landscape and its rock formations draw attention back to the former railway line.
Cultural Heritage and Art in the Municipality
The nearby Dubrova Park is listed as open 24 hours a day, year-round, with free admission. Group tours must be arranged in advance. Local access conditions may change, so it is advisable to check them before visiting. At the Dubrova Sculpture Park, the International Sculpture Symposium has added to the collection of sculptures made from Istrian stone every year since 1970. The Bijela cesta, also known as the White Road, is a walking trail with 16 sections, each 25 metres long.
Art performances, concerts, theatre and other events take place at the Dolac Amphitheatre in the sculpture park; the programme may change. Another nearby destination with historical significance is Kaštel Šumber and its lower settlement. It is a protected cultural asset of national importance, built on the site of a prehistoric hillfort.
