Accommodation in Hrašćina
The place offers a clearly defined historical connection and a scenic viewpoint: the Piramida opens up views of Hrašćina and Hrvatsko Zagorje. Other cultural and orientation points lie within the wider destination of Općina Hrašćina. When planning your trip, you can consider local history, views and regional cultural heritage as distinct areas of interest.
Meteorite Fall and Places of Remembrance
Hrašćina is associated with the first documented meteorite fall, which occurred on 26 May 1751. The Hrašćina meteorite fell in a field in the village of Domovec, within the wider destination of Općina Hrašćina. It was the first fall of extraterrestrial matter in the world to be documented in detail and officially. The meteorite memorial in Domovec features a low obelisk with a life-size replica of the meteorite. The memorial can be reached from Trgovišće town centre via a paved, signposted road.
Views at the Piramida
The 14-metre-high Piramida is located above Trgovišće on Pipinićev put. From there, views extend across Hrašćina and much of Hrvatsko Zagorje; on a clear day, the Alpine peaks are also visible. Within the wider destination of Općina Hrašćina, Pipinićev put runs through the Hrašćina area as an educational ecological trail. It is named after Branko Pipinić, a teacher and founder of the local hiking club. The viewpoint and the trail thus offer two different perspectives: the panorama and the local history behind the name.
Buildings and Local History
Kurija Belošević was built in 1848, is protected cultural heritage in Croatia, and hosts Susreti meteorita. Croatian writers have taken part in these gatherings in Hrašćina since 1995. If you want to plan your visit around the gatherings, check the event dates before making your plans. At a road junction in the centre of Hrašćina, a Roman funerary stele is incorporated into the wayside shrine of St. Anna Samotreća. With its construction date and gatherings, the kurija offers a different historical focus from the shrine and its Roman funerary stele.

The wayside shrine of St. Mark in Domovec was erected in 1647 as a memorial and thanksgiving for the Turks’ withdrawal from this area. Inside St. Nicholas Church is a cycle of murals attributed to associates of Antun Lerchinger and the Zagreb painter Antun Archer. At Kurija pl. Belošević, visitors can hear the love story of Belgian Princess Louise and her chosen partner, the Zagorje nobleman Geza pl. Matačić.
For geographical orientation, Hrašćina-Trgovišće railway station is on the Zagreb–Varaždin railway line between Konjščina and Budinščina. Hrašćina belongs to the Zlatni istok Zagorja tourism area. These details add another context for choosing a destination alongside the local sights: historic places, a story from the kurija and the location on a railway line offer different points of reference for your planning.
