Windmills, church and pilgrimage
Lijstermolen in Westouter has been a protected monument since 29 October 2004. It is a wooden post mill with an open trestle and is used for milling grain. Both its specific design and its function as a grain mill shape the character of this structure.
Sint-Eligiuskerk began as a Romanesque cruciform church and developed into a Gothic hall church. It was badly damaged during the First World War; only the Romanesque tower remained relatively intact. While Lijstermolen is defined by its wooden construction and function as a grain mill, the church tells of the transition between two architectural styles and the consequences of war.
The Lourdesgrot, a pilgrimage site, is located at Rodebergstraat 23 in Westouter. It adds another religious site to the area's church architecture.
Play facilities and other experiences
