Sattledt: Nature, Movement and Architectural History
Accommodation in Sattledt
For a hotel stay in Sattledt, different interests can help guide your choice: movement on trails and paths, nature in the biotope, and insights into how the landscape was formed and the architecture of the parish church. When planning, consider whether activity, nature or architectural history is the deciding factor. This helps you tailor your stay to the area’s highlights.
Movement on Trails and Paths
The Sattledt Trail Park covers around 1.5 kilometres and has seven trails of varying difficulty. Its approximate length and graded challenges provide two different points of reference: the size of the trail network and the level of challenge it may offer. Use of the trail park is free. As operating conditions may change, check the latest information before your visit.
The Motorikpark can be used individually by anyone. The Wirte-Runde is a hiking trail that is also suitable for cyclists and runners. The activity options therefore differ according to what matters most to you: the trail park focuses on different levels of difficulty, the Motorikpark on individual use, and the Wirte-Runde on suitability for several forms of exercise.
Biotope and Alpine Foothills Landscape
In the biotope in Unterhart, stone benches and an observation platform invite you to linger and daydream. It is home to abundant vegetation and insects that have settled there in a very short time. The distinction is clear when choosing: the trail park and Wirte-Runde are for movement, while the biotope offers a chance to linger and connect with nature.
Two moraine flows from the Traun and Enns plateaus led to the formation of the characteristic Alpine foothills landscape. This also makes it possible to understand the landscape in terms of its geological origins; alongside the biotope’s connection with nature, the focus here is on how the landscape was shaped.
Stone Park and Parish Church
The Stone Park features numerous stones collected from across Upper Austria, illustrating the geological development of the region. Alongside the formation of the Alpine foothills landscape by two moraine flows, the park offers another way to explore geology: here, the stones illustrate regional development, while there, the focus is on how the landscape was shaped.
The Stone Park is being created close to the centre along the so-called Kanalweg; it begins at the tourist information hut. If you wish to use this point as a reference, check the local signage.
The Roman Catholic Parish Church of Sattledt is a local landmark; its architecture is described as Neo-Baroque. Construction began in 1926; it was completed and the church consecrated five years later. The style designation identifies the architectural style, while the sequence of years provides a clear timeline for construction and consecration. The parish church therefore offers both an architectural and a historical perspective on Sattledt. For visitors interested in architecture, this brings together the style classification and a brief chronology of the church.
