The Waldspielplatz mountain bike practice trail in Gerlos-Gmünd is an approximately 600-metre circuit ridden counterclockwise. The descent begins with two hairpin bends or steep turns. Since summer 2021, a pump track has complemented the MTB practice trail in Abenteuerland Gerlos. It is located right next to the Waldspielplatz. The circuit and the pump track are therefore two separately named features. The facility may be maintained seasonally. If you are planning to use the pump track in particular, it is therefore advisable to check its condition before your visit.

Hiking trails with different destinations

The Wimmertal branches off at Gerlos-Gmünd and is suitable for leisurely walkers. From there, hiking trail no. 6 passes the Eggehtenalm and leads to the Wimmertalalm snack station; you reach the destination after about 45 minutes. The waypoint and the alm destination give the trail a clear route, while the approximate walking time helps you plan your schedule. This makes it easy to assess the hike in terms of its destination and time frame.

Winter hiking trail to the Schwarzachtal

The winter hiking trail to the Schwarzachtal is another route to consider seasonally. It starts at the Kühle Rast inn in Gerlos-Gmünd, runs through a narrow belt of woodland and leads to the Schwarzachalm snack station. Its destination differs from that of trail no. 6: here it is the Schwarzachalm, while that trail leads to the Wimmertalalm. Art and nature at the Gmünd reservoir

The Lebensfreude circular trail offers a different thematic experience. In 2025, Zillertal artist HAKI created six installations that form the trail’s stops. They invite you to pause at the Gmünd reservoir and immerse yourself in the surrounding nature. The trail thus combines art installations with an appreciation of nature, while the hiking trails each lead to a snack station.
